Prepaid copy-based contracts: written steps
Who does this: Billing and contract administrators
Some customers pay once, upfront, for a block of copies over the life of their contract. Noetics runs those contracts for you, start to finish.
This training covers
- Turning a contract into a prepaid contract
- Choosing a contract pool
- The prepaid page and adding a block
- The first prepaid invoice and its deferred revenue
Before you start
- Prepaid contracts are optional.
- A contract pool shares one balance across every machine on the contract.
- Revenue is deferred across the term.
Prepaid copy-based contracts
- On the contract, turn on Prepaid Contract.
- Prepaid tab: level, owner, thresholds; click Change Level.
- Choose Contract Pool.
- Enter the amount and copies, the accounting settings, and save.
- Click Open Prepaid Page.
- Copies, used and remaining per pool.
- Add Block: amount, copies, earned dates.
- The block is listed, ready to invoice.
- On the contract, click First Invoice.
- Check the term dates and click Invoice All.
- Supplies and service lines.
- Posted, with Deferred Entries.
What you just did
- Turned on Prepaid Contract
- Set up a contract pool
- Added a prepaid block
- Ran the first invoice and saw the deferred entries
That's prepaid copy-based contracts. Next up, Chapter 7: contracts from the order and machines at delivery.
